I used as many parts from two 76178 sets as possible. But I wanted a working elevator and more space, so this is the result.
#LEGO DAILY BUGLE MODIFICATION MOD#
Stonewall Bricks has a clever MOC that uses only one set plus a few extra parts ( LEGO MOC Daily Bugle Re-Scaled Mod ) to make a better proportioned office tower with five shorter floors. If you previously got the parts for v1, there is also a list of the additional parts you need for v3. The additional parts list is available in Bricklink xml and Rebrickable csv formats at my Double Daily Bugle bricksafe link. The inventory here lists all the parts (those used from the two donor sets and additional parts needed). This is a full-featured expanded Daily Bugle office building, with a motorized glass-sided elevator and a working window washer platform! It converts the Daily Bugle from its fantastical superhero theme into an ordinary building suitable for a modular city, using two 76178 Daily Bugle sets including their spare parts, and 625 additional parts (139 unique), costing about $130 US. Version 2 released: Adds a functional window washer platform and hoist (description below), raises the roof sign by one plate, replaces some 2x2 dark bluish gray tiles with studded tiles for more minifig placement options, changes to the elevator pulley system, other minor fixes (see v2 instructions for details). Version 3 released: Adds a minifig with a safety cable to the window washer platform, adjusts the roof sign placement to improve clearance with the window washer (see v3 instructions for details).
